Ones you have purchased wicker furniture, the next important step is to take care of it in order to maintain its longevity. Wicker furniture care is imperative as it is light weight material and if you are using it for your outdoors then it becomes even more important to take care of it without being careless and also it can be easily damaged if not maintained regularly. In order to increase the life of your wicker furniture, it is important for you to know that what could possibly harm your furniture and how do you need to deal with it. This furniture is light weight in nature and is best suited for gardens, patio and the outer areas of the house. So in cases when the wicker furniture is kept in outdoors it is directly exposed to sunlight, this way the material of the furniture will be dried out and it will become week and easily breakable which will harm its durability. This problem can be easily taken care of by keeping the furniture in the shade. It is always beneficial to keep the furniture under a protective shield so that it won’t get dried up and you can enjoy it for long time.
Another thing that you need to take care of is to prevent your furniture from water.  If your furniture gets exposed to water it can get damaged. In cases of bad weather, move your furniture under the safe place and same should be done in case of harsh sunlight because too much moisture will damage the natural wicker similarly too much of heat will also damage and dry up the natural wicker. Because of the fact that wicker is light weight material you can always move it into your indoors whenever you come across such extreme weather conditions.  For regular maintenance of your furniture, it is advised to do regular dusting and cleaning and keep a cushion to cover it. Cleaning of wicker furniture is one of the simplest things to do as compared to any other kind of furniture.
Firstly, you need to take the furniture into your cleaning space and then you can wash it, this will remove all the dust and the dirt in the furniture. For cleaning you can either use a detergent or a bleach mixture as it will be helpful in removing all the mild and small spots.  Ones you start applying the detergent or the mixture on the furniture make sure you keep it for few minutes so that it removes all the dirt off the furniture. After few minutes you can rinse it off with clean warm water and then let it dry. Ones your furniture is dry, the next step is to cover the furniture, most people use lacquer finishes that increases the shine on the furniture and also it helps in making the furniture more durable as well. These are two important steps that you need to follow while maintaining your wicker furniture and the process is not at all hard or time consuming.
